In recent years, supercapacitors (SC) have been used in portable electronic devices such as cell phones, laptops, as well as electric vehicles, airplanes, and many other inventions that make our life easier and more convenient. Our research group is actively exploring various electrode materials to provide high performance SCs, such as transition metal oxides (TMO)/chalcogenides (TMC), conductive polymers, metal organic framework (MOF) and carbon nanomaterials using various techniques such as electrochemical and chemical atomic energy technology like ion beams. Also, our research has extended into nanozymes based electrochemical biosensors for the detection of biomolecules and biomarkers through our innovative electrode preparation technology.

Research Fields

  • Design and development of porous carbon, TMO/TMC (sulfides and selenides) and MOFs for high performance SCs.
  • Fabrication of high energy density supercapacitors electrodes by ion beam technologies
  • Rationalize the design and development of highly sensitive, field deployable and cost effective for electrochemical biosensors.

Research Equipment

  • Electrochemical workstation

  • I-V instrument

  • Glove box

  • High tem. tubular furnace
